  • I'm located in the Portland, Oregon area, but provide virtual appointments all over Oregon and Washington.

  • Online therapy gives folks more flexibility and access to counseling. During sessions, you can be located in any quiet and private space in the states of Oregon or Washington. For your safety and comfort, it's important that you are in a safe space (ie: not driving or in a loud public place) during our meetings. Before each appointment, you will get a session link emailed to you. All you have to do is click on that link and have your session!

  • No. I only offer virtual sessions.

  • I charge $250 for the initial session and $220 for each session thereafter.

  • I do take some insurance plans. Though there are understandable reasons to using insurance, there are also several drawbacks.

If you are using insurance there are some important things you should know.

    1. Insurance requires a mental health diagnosis to be on record. Though this won't negatively impact most people, it is important to keep in mind. I understand that not everyone is comfortable with that so want to put that out there right away.

    2. Insurance can request access to your mental health records for audits, including the notes that I keep.

    3. Insurance can limit the number of sessions or length of treatment based on their own arbitrary guidelines. I know that each person's story and journey is unique and you cannot put a time or session number on healing. It takes as long as it takes. Therefore, this is something that is important for you to know.

If I do take your insurance and you don't want to use it, you can request to opt-out. Just keep in mind that you won't be able to submit for any reimbursement from them for sessions.

  • If I don't take your insurance, you would pay me my rate and:

    1. I can provide you with a monthly superbill. A superbill is a document that shows things like your diagnosis, the sessions we had and how much you paid for them. You can then submit that to your insurance company for reimbursement. They will reimburse you based on your out-of-network benefits. It's important that you talk with them beforehand to know what your benefits for out-of-network mental health are.

It's important to note that insurance will still require a diagnosis and may still try to audit your mental health records, even with an out-of-network provider.

    1. You can choose to not submit for reimbursement. This means that insurance will not have any say in your treatment length and will not have any knowledge of your diagnosis.

  • If you are paying cash for services, you have a right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate." It outlines the expected costs of the services you will receive. This estimate is intended to give you a clear understanding of the financial commitment involved in your treatment before you start.

  • Every person is like a unique puzzle, with different pieces that need to be understood and worked through. Because of this, it's hard to say exactly how long therapy will take. Some people might find they reach their goals quickly, while others might need more time. It really depends on your individual situation, the challenges you're facing, your history and how you respond to the therapy. Think of it like a journey where the path isn’t the same for everyone – but I’ll be here to support you every step of the way!
